  • Horse lameness in 12 year old French saddle horse
    resolved with AfterAce equestrian supplements

History July 2007, The horse suddenly presented an acute lameness of the left hind (grade 3 to 4/5), without any clinical sign of distal pathology (heat, oedema, pain…..).The clinical examination didn’t reveal any sign of distal osteoarticular pathology (the passive flexion tests were negative, no evidence of heat, oedema,….).The osteopathic examination revealed a strong dysfunction of the left iliacus and the sixth lumbar. Treatment : osteopathic treatment, mild anti-inflammatory drug administration (aspirin 17 mg/kg twice daily during 4 days), horse at rest (hand walking during ten days).

August 2007, The horse still presented a left hind lameness (grade 2/5) in all the aspects of the clinical exam with a positive dynamic flexion test (left hind). The clinical exam revealed a sensitivity of the suspensory ligamentus of the left hind. The ultrasonographic exam revealed a mild thickening of the suspensory ligamentus. Treatment : blister application. Three weeks walking twenty mintutes daily on hard surface.

September 2007, The horse didn’t show any clinical improvement. It was decided to refer him into a clinic for further investigations.

October 2007, The horse was examined in the « Clinique de GROBOIS ». The exam revealed a mild lameness of the hind left. The radiographic examination (fetlock, hock, stifle) didn’t reveal any abnormality. The ultrasonographic exam revealed a cartilaginous abnormality of the femoral trochlea with no sign of synovitis, and the transrectal ultrasonographic exam revealed a mild remodeling of both left and right sacro-iliac joints. Treatment : anti-inflammatory injections of the sacro-iliac-joints. A clinical re-examination was planned three weeks after. If no improvement was observed, it was recommended to inject the stifle.

Beginning of November 2007, The horse didn’t show any clinical improvement. The left stifle was injected and a single perfusion of TILDREN was realised. Horse walked twenty minutes daily.

December 2007, No clinical improvement. With nothing to lose, equestrian supplements were considered in a final attempt to achieve horse fitness. Administration of AfterAce 50 ml orally daily three days, then 25 ml daily 15 days. Horse walked riding Twenty minutes daily.

January the 9th 2008, Clinical control : the horse didn’t show any evidence of hind lameness. The horse was ridden daily (walk and trot).

January the 25th 2008, The horse has been lounged trotting during the last two weeks. He didn’t show any evidence of lameness. Both right and left hind dynamic flexion tests were negative.

My 11 year old became quite lame behind July 2007 due to an unknown cause (cast in the stables, mishap in paddock, who knows…) My veterinarian/osteopathe examimed and treated him(sacrum/illiac problem, off hind left.) Hand-walking(3days,) aspirin treatment, walking, then light work and shoeing modifications improved him for a short period. After a few weeks of light work during my absence(done by a student,) I returned to a horse not quite right(end august.) Still off left hind, sensitivity in suspensory tendon, positive flexion test led us to a minor blister and walking. 10 days later, still lame, we were referred to a big horse care Clinic, Grosbois, near Paris for further exams(xrays, scans, lameness tests, etc.)

October 1st was the first visit in a series of four to Grosbois. The horse presented minor lesions in his cartiledge, as well as remodeling in both sacro-illiac joints. He was injected in the lumbar and sacro-illiac areas. Hand-walked first day, ridden at a walk next 5 days before a very light work. Off the second day of light work. Re-controlled by my vet, osteopathy done, 10days stable rest on aspirin, vitamin E and selenium. Hand-walking, ridden at a walk progressively up to 30’. Controlled, positive stifle flexion test, injection done(Nov. 3rd.) Hand-walking, ridden at a walk, progressively put back into work(Tildrene drip done on the 9th Nov.) Controlled early Dec., osteopathy done(recurring problems,) appointement made for shock waves to be done at Grosbois clinic. 5th Dec., lameness control(no major improvement,) began a series of three treatments of shock waves at one week intervals. Lunged the horse throughout this period as recommended. 20th Dec. controlled lameness before third and final shock wave(no improvement whatsoever.) Decision taken to begin AfterAce horse supplements (50ml 3days, then 25ml,) and ride at a walk 20-30’ controlling regularly his lameness.

The horse urinated more than usual, sometimes dark, and was quite often lying down (even whilst bedding the box!) He rapidly became more and more supple coming out of the stable, and under saddle, presenting lost signs of playfulness. After 2&1/2 weeks, I trotted him 2’ and was astonished by his turnaround, he was completely sound and supple! My vet controlled him the next day and was equally amazed by the results. The decision was made to put him slowly back into work for 1&1/2 weeks, then do a proper vetting, flexion tests, lungeing and all. He passed with flying colors! He has since returned to work at a walk, trot and canter on a lunge line and paddock. He had a 3day Immunall booster(50ml,) after 18days of AfterAce, and now down to 15ml A.A. has a 25ml Immunall booster weekly. It is a miraculous ending after over 6 months of horse lameness frustrations.

A few words about your products AfterAce and Immunall, after hearing about it I decided to try it out on two of our horses. The first horse a 5yro with a chip in his hock which found collected canter on that rein very difficult and would keep changing behind all the time. After 4 weeks of horse care on AfterAce and after that a week on Immunall he now can collect on that rein with ease and comfort and no skipping back and forth. Great result. The second horse we tried a 7yro that ran on his nerves and constantly grinded his teeth and bit, he has all but nearly stopped this now, a huge difference. Also the over all horse fitness and condition of these 2 horses has improved, no end the comments are what are you feeding them?.Well done on two good natural horse supplements that work.

Dear Jake,
I am writing to thank you for introducing me to your superb new product AfterAce. I was willing to try it due to the pleasing results I have had following the use of Immunall. My 12 year old horse Turaath a six time race winner, has over the last 12 – 18 months begun to show signs of suffering from the wear and tear of a long racing career, this added to the fact that he has pins in his off fore knee and joint since an early age. I am delighted to say, that since using your new product on him, my horse was within 20 days, returned to being sound. This was achieved through a horse care programme of a dose of 50ml of ‘AfterAce’ for 5 days, followed by 50ml of Immunall to re-vitalise for the following 4 days and repeating these doses alternately to date. I was apprehensive during the first week of using AfterAce as my horse’s knee swelled badly, as did his joint and there was also thickness in the tendon, which felt spongy to the touch. These horse lameness symptoms subsided after 3 – 4 days and have not returned since. I am so impressed with your products, that I have already recommended them to friends of mine, who have horses with simmilar ailments.

  • AfterAce equine supplement,
Is a horse care product made of 100% natural ingredients.

This herbal combination is known to be helpful in cases of muscle and joint problems in horses, dogs and humans. The product is helpful in releasing toxic waste ( uric acids ) that has built up in the muscular system and in the joints, causing inflammations and restriction in movement. These waste products often settle in the muscle tissues which are not rich in blood flow in particular the parts attached to the bone and in and around joints. This might cause pain and less movement and also inflammation in mid to long term, or even calcification of the ligaments. It is also thought that waste products, being acid, have a negative effect on the level of hyaluronic acid in the joints which in turn causes the soft cartilage to calcify and possibly form Osteochondrosis (OCD). At the same time more wear and tear will appear in the joints as loss in freedom of moving. AfterAce is thought to bring the acid balance back in the muscles and joints thus keeping down inflammations and avoiding calcification of the ligaments and consequent horse lameness. Herbs in AfterAce help to reduce inflammation and help to quickly reduce the level of toxic waste in muscle tissue and tendon tissue. (Harpagophytum and Hypericum). Other herbs such as Ilex and Betula help to move toxic waste away through the blood system and urine system. Urtica helps to stimulate the cells to release the uric acids into the blood system to be transported away.
